The leader of Venture Cup's jury, and Secretary General of the Norwegian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, Knut T. Traaseth, placed DeAmp in nothing less than "a league of it"s own" when announcing the winner of the National Finals in Stavanger, Norway. Five minutes later the team also won Tekna"s Innovation Award.
Stavanger, Norway: Almost 1.000 spectators had gathered at the University of Stavanger for Venture Cup"s National Finals last thursday. During spring and summer about 170 concepts have been submitted to the contest, whereas 12 concepts were gathered for one last battle. Once again DeAmp"s business developers were called to the stage to receive the first price of NOK 200.000, keeping the company"s six months long winning streak intact. Five minutes later Tekna, Norway's largest organization for academics, awarded the company their own prestigious award of NOK 100.000.
"Most of all this competition is about motivation for DeAmp" stated designer and product developer Stian Remåd in his thank you speech. "The money will undoubtedly come in handy, but what we appreciate even more about this evening is the acknowledgement Venture Cup gives for all the late nights we put into our business, and the risk we take to build something unique".
